A Journey Through 100 Years of Scouting
These collections preserve and share artifacts from my personal scouting journey, spanning from 1950 when I joined the Cub Scouts through my years in Boy Scouts and beyond, and treasured items from my father’s time in scouting in the early 1920s.

My goal now is to give artifacts to individual Boy Scouts, Scouters, Troops, Councils, and National Museums.

1957 World Jamboree International Badge Collection

In August 1957 at Sutton Park, England, I attended the Jubilee Jamboree celebrating 50 years of world scouting. Through trades with fellow scouts, I collected badges from 26 countries across five continents—each representing a friendship forged during those twelve unforgettable days.
This 32″ × 48″ canvas display, now 68 years old, is one of the most significant artifacts in my collection and is intended for donation to a scouting museum.

Why these Collections Matter
These artifacts tell stories—stories of leadership, outdoor adventure, community service, and the values that shaped generations of young people. From my father’s scouting notebooks to my own Cub Scout and Boy Scout handbooks, each item represents a moment in the ongoing tradition of scouting.
Many of these materials are becoming increasingly rare. By digitizing and sharing them, I hope to:
- Preserve scouting history for future generations
- Provide resources for researchers and historians
- Share the experience of scouting across different eras
- Connect and share with fellow scouts and collectors
- Share artifacts with scouts, troops, councils, and museums
- Contribute to museum and archive collections
Note: Nothing is for sale. Anything I donate is not to be sold.1
About the Collection Process
I’m currently scanning and cataloging items from my personal archives. Artifacts are photographed, documented, and described with historical context as appropriate. This is an ongoing project—new items are added as I work through my collection. I have been using some artificial intelligence (A.I.)2 to help design the website, as well as to create some first drafts of information on some pages.
Scans may be available for educational, research, and archival purposes.

- If you are interested in buying, selling, or swapping any artifacts on this website, please do not contact me; there are plenty of traders and sellers on the internet. I want to gift or donate my artifacts and collections to people or groups who will preserve and share them; nothing is for sale or to be sold. ↩︎
- I have used several artificial intelligence (A.I.) tools in developing this website for content development and design ideas. As a result, you may see different layouts on similar pages as I am experimenting. I have found these tools to be very beneficial and give credit to ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Gemini, Copilot, and others. ↩︎
